the admissions process is holistic and does not have a minimum gpa. however, competitive applicants will have approximately a 3.0 or better.
the pcat is not required. students who choose to take the pcat and score well can benefit from their efforts. applicants that choose not to get a bachelor’s degree are required to take the pcat.
mbku prefers one letter be written by a pharmacist and one from a science faculty. other recommendations should be from an immediate supervisor, a healthcare provider (not your own) and a professor.
advanced placement credit will be accepted for one non-science prerequisite course. however, pharmcas does not include these course proficiencies in their gpa calculations.

yes, mbku uses rolling admissions, which means we process and consider applications as they are received. slots are limited, so applying sooner is better.

yes. mbku’s fitness center and locker rooms are located next to the parking structure, and access is included in tuition.
the facility features cardio equipment, free weights, weights machines and flat screen tvs. the men’s and women’s locker rooms have lockers, restrooms and showers. if you prefer to exercise outdoors, there are many hiking and biking trailheads near campus, and a recreational park very close to the campus.
upon graduation of the first class, the college of pharmacy will make readily available the pass rates for the naplex.
mbku has contracted with passnaplexnow to help students prepare for the naplex. the passnaplexnow program will be disseminated through a course in the third year of the curriculum.
more than half of our students live within one mile of campus in the many apartments, condominiums and homes surrounding the campus. mbku has a housing list that we will email upon request to give you a better idea of southern california’s cost of living.
while reliable, consistent transportation will be required during the clinical year, mbku is located in an affordable, safe, residential area where pedestrian traffic is common.
within a mile of campus there are a few grocery stores, pharmacies, cafes and restaurants, and a few department stores. everything you need is within walking distance, but to get to the beach, mountains, los angeles, etc. you will need a car or take public transportation (bus, train).
